Accessibility in Disaster and Emergency Management

Human and nature centered disasters have started to create new risk factors day by day. The problems encountered with global climate change, technology and industrialization have greatly affected daily life. However, the negative effects of disasters on disadvantaged groups began to diversify. This situation brought up the need for policies to be developed before the disaster, social resilience against disasters and emergencies, and early response capacity. Within the content of the Accessibility in Emergency and DisasterManagement Workshop, it is aimed to discuss and form a basis for policies in case of disasters and emergencies. In the content of the workshop, the issue of accessibility in case of disasters and emergencies will be evaluated in urban spaces and closed areas as well as in open urban spaces.

Within the workshop program, it is aimed to create an information and experience-sharing environment in the context of mutual knowledge transfer. The event program will last approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.

The event will be conducted via online platforms. To reflect participants’ ideas, interactive working and sharing platforms Miro and Mentimeter will be used as tools by the coordination team.

The event will also be broadcast on the EKA Collective YouTube channel.
