Volkan Yılmaz

Volkan Yılmaz is currently an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the School of Law & Government, Dublin City University (DCU). He is teaching in Master's Programme in Public Policy at DCU. Between 2016 and 2021, he was a faculty member at Bogazici University where he served the Director of Social Policy Forum Research Centre and the Coordinator of Master's Program in Social Policy. He took his undergraduate degrees in Political Science & International Relations and Sociology from Bogazici University, a taught postgraduate degree in Modern Turkish History from the same university. He completed his PhD in Politics at the University of Leeds. He serves as the vice president of Sociology of Social Policy and Social Welfare Research Network (RN26) of the European Sociological Association, and editorial board members of the Journal of Social Policy and New Perspectives on Turkey. His academic expertise lies in public policies; comparative social policy; the politics of social policy reforms; health care policies; humanitarian programmes; human rights, discrimination and social policies.
