Ruhisu Can Al
General Coordinator, Izmir Sustainable Urban Development Network
He was born in 1990 in Izmir. He completed his higher education at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences and then his master's degree in European Studies and EU Law at the University of Hamburg (Germany). In 2016, as the mayor's advisor at Seferihisar Municipality, he worked in the fields such as the municipality's external relations, corporate sustainability, and transparency and developed joint projects with organizations such as UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments), UNSDSN (United Nations Sustainable Solutions Network), Sustainability Academy, and Transparency International. In 2019, he served as a counsellor to Tunç Soyer, the Mayor of Izmir in the same fields. He is the general coordinator of the Sustainable Urban Development Network, which was established with the participation of 22 municipalities from Turkey. Since 2018, she has been working as a doctoral student in the Department of International Relations at Ege University and is particularly interested in the field of "urban diplomacy".
