Pınar Çağlın

Senior Urban Planner, UN-Habitat

Pinar has studied Urban and Regional Planning and Urban Design at the Istanbul Technical University. She worked in regional planning projects for Benghazi and Tripoli Regions in Libya between 2008 - 2011. After moving to Kenya, she served as a consultant in the UN-Habitat Somalia Programme and supported projects in urban development, design and humanitarian response fields. In 2018, she joined the Urban Lab team of UN-Habitat, where she contributed and led projects on integrated spatial planning, urban resilience and sustainable mobility. As part of the programmes in the Urban Lab, she contributed to developing tools and methodologies to promote sustainable urbanisation.

Pinar is a member of the UN-Habitat team to support the UK FCDO funded Global Future Cities Programme and overviews Turkey and South Africa projects. She has supported the development and application of the SDG Project Assessment Tool to the large scale urban projects in the programme and provided programme management and technical guidance to the local teams in the countries.
