Nilüfer Ergin Doğruer

She studied sculpture at İstanbul State Academy of Fine Arts Faculty of Sculpture and graduated in 1984 as a master sculptor. She carried out academic researches on outdoor sculpture and continued her education in Italy in different periods. She studied stone and marble at the Giorgio Angeli Sculpture Workshop in Pietrasanta. She started her academic career in 1987 at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture. Between 1994-1999, she continued her academic career at Mimar Sinan University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture; later at Marmara University. In addition to her administrative duties, such as Director of the Institute of Fine Arts and Head of Department, and academic studies, she has participated in national and international exhibitions with her works, realized outdoor sculptures, and received awards. Deepening her researches on artwork and urban space relations in publications, symposiums, conferences, and panels, she worked as a jury member in many sculpture competitions. She was appointed as the Advisor to the President in the sculpture projects of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality between 1992 and 1994 and Kadıköy Municipality between 2009-2013. Having taken active responsibilities in professional organizations, she served as the President of Unesco International Association of Plastic Arts between 1997 and 1999. She is currently working as a professor at Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture. Additionally, since 2020, she is a member of the Council on Public Art of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
