Lütfi Akça
Prof., Local Government Policies Board Member, Presidency of the Republic of Turkey
He holds a B.A. in Civil Engineering, a master's and a doctorate degree in Environmental Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Between 1992-1993, he did post-doctoral research as a visiting scientist at Cornell University, USA. Between 1981 and 2007, he worked as a research assistant and lecturer at ITU Environmental Engineering Department.
He served as the General Manager and Undersecretary of Environmental Management at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry between 2007 and 2011, as Undersecretary at the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs between 2011 and 2016, and as Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister between 2016 and 2017. He was appointed as a Board Member of the Presidency's Local Government Policies Board in 2018, and he has been working as a consultant at the Turkish Water Institute since 2016.
