Hassan Radoine
Prof., Director of School of Architecture, Planning and Design, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University
Dr Hassan Radoine is currently the Director of the School of Architecture, Planning and Design at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. He was previously the Director of the Ecole Nationale d'Architecture in Morocco, and the Head of the Architecture Department at the University of Sharjah, UAE. He received his first Architect Professional Diploma from Rabat’s Ecole Nationale d’Architecture. As a Prince of Wales Scholar, he also earned a Master’s degree from the Prince of Wales’ Institute of Architecture and University of Wales. As a Fulbright Scholar, he completed his M.Sc. and PhD in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He has taught at UPenn, Dartmouth College, University of Sharjah, American University of Sharjah, and Al Akhawayn University, and worked as an international expert for UNESCO, ICCROM, MCC, the World Bank, and the Aga Khan Award. He has been an active professional consultant for international bodies such as UNESCO, UN-Habitat, ICCROM, MCC, Aga Khan Award of Architecture, and World Bank. His research and practice interests include Smart and Sustainable Urban Planning, Urban Conservation & Development, Smart and resilient human establishments, Sustainable Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism in the MENA region. His new book with Wiley International is entitled: “Architecture in Context: Designing in the Middle East”.
