Ekrem Yüce

Mayor, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality

He was born in 1954 in Çengel Village of Geyve District of Sakarya. He completed his primary and secondary education in Pamukova. He completed his high school education in Kırklareli Atatürk High School and Adapazarı Imam Hatip School. He graduated from Erzurum Atatürk University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Culture, Technique and Machine as a professional engineer.

Between 1999 and 2003, he served as Mayor of Erenler Municipality. Between 2003 and 2011, he was appointed as the Chairman of Board of Directors of ÇAYKUR. He worked as a consultant in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock in 2011-2012. Between 2012 and 2018, Yüce served as the Head of the Regional Development Administration of the Eastern Black Sea Project. After the June 24 General Elections, he was re-appointed as the General Manager of ÇAYKUR. He was elected as Mayor of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality in the local elections on 31 March 2019. Yüce also held managerial positions in various fields such as non-governmental organizations, sports clubs and universities. He is married and has two children.
