Birgül Demirtaş

Birgül Demirtaş is professor of International Relations at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of Turkish-German University in İstanbul. Se has received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin, 2005; MA in International Relations from Bilkent University, Ankara in 1999; BA in Political Science and International Relations from Boğaziçi University, İstanbul in 1995. Her studies concentrate on Turkish foreign policy, Balkans, German foreign policy, migration, city diplomacy and gender. She serves as the managing editor of the academic peer-review Journal of Uluslararası İlişkiler (International Relations).
