Bahar Aksel is an urban designer who is trying to solve the mystery of the cities while living in a 3000 years old city and teaching in a 138 years old university that gives her a great laboratory for research, arts, culture and new experiences. She is working, teaching, researching and thinking on placemaking, city and art, city image and branding, creative industries, civic service design and co-creation of urban spaces. Graduated as an Urban Planner from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), got her PhD degree on Urban Design from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSU), participated many international projects, conferences and workshops, Scholar of British Council Creative Hubs Programme, Project partner of “Creaticity” and “Hal: Sinop Entrepreneurship and Meeting Center”, Lecturer of EAP Bucharest (European Academy of Participation), Asisstants Professor (PhD) in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of City and Regional Planning.
