Ian Klaus is senior fellow on global cities at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Previously, he was senior adviser for global cities at the US Department of State, deputy United States negotiator for the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Development (Habitat III), and Ernest May Fellow for History and Security Studies at the Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
