Ahmet Cihat Kahraman

Ahmet Cihat Kahraman is the Environmental Management Coordinator at Marmara Municipalities Union. Before working in Marmara Municipalities Union, he worked as project assistant and coordinator in rural development projects. He completed his undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering at Selcuk University (Konya, Turkey) and simultaneously graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Heat and Energy at the same university. During this time, he took part in research projects in the fields of industrial wastewater management and interdisciplinary renewable energy. He completed his master's degree in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Istanbul University (Istanbul, Turkey), and conducted modelling studies for the effective collection and recovery of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. He continues his graduate studies with Istanbul University Environmental Engineering Doctorate Program. He also conducts academic research on the financing of environmental management, local climate change policies and the costs of waste management in central / local governments. It actively carries out studies on the environmental situation of Ergene River and Marmara Sea, as well as integrated waste management and climate change actions in local governments. He continues to work as a member of the Solid Waste and Wastewater Management Task Force within the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe (NALAS) and the Local Administrations Energy Efficiency Task Force within the same Network.
