Ahmet Çelebi

Head of Transportation Department, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality

Çelebi graduated from Dumlupınar University Civil Engineering Faculty in 2004. In 2015, he completed his master's degree in the "Urban and Transportation Systems Management" program with his study on "Locational Analysis of Traffic Accidents" at Bahçeşehir University, Institute of Science and Technology.

He worked as a civil engineer, chief and site manager in the private sector between 2004 - 2007 years and started to work in Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Planning Directorate in 2007. As of 2010, he has held various administrative duties, respectively; Transportation Planning Branch Directorate, Transportation Department Rail Systems Branch Directorate, Traffic Services Branch Directorate and Public Transport Department Public Transport Planning Branch Directorate.

During this period, he coordinated various projects such as; 2035 Kocaeli Main Transportation Plan, Kocaeli Logistics Master Plan and Strategy Determination, Kocaeli Highway Corridors Projects, Road and Multi-Storey Interchange Projects, Sekapark Tramway Project, Northern LRT Metro Project, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Traffic Control Center.

Çelebi, who has been working as the Deputy Secretary General for Technical Affairs in Bilecik Special Provincial Administration since 20 November 2017, was appointed to Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department on 1 July 2019. Speaking English, Çelebi is married and has 3 children.
