Marmarathon: City for the Wild
Ideathon | September 28-29
Wildlife, like so many things on our planet today, is facing a deep crisis. Although the city is not the only culprit, it plays an important role in this crisis with its destruction of nature. We propose to rethink the city for wildlife at Marmarathon, which will be held as part of MARUF on the GO, in collaboration with WWF, Zemin Istanbul, Superpool, and Kentsel Strateji. We invite young people to generate creative ideas to support wildlife and rethink every point where nature and the city come into contact, from bird migration routes to ecological bridges, from ghost nets to endemic plants.
Participants from different disciplines, who will apply as a group or individually, will work together for 2 days and seek sustainable, durable, creative, inclusive, innovative, and healthy solutions for wildlife. Marmarathon will be held onlineon September 28-29with mentors and additional training. The submitted ideas will be evaluated by the jury and the selected works will be presented at the MARUF21 “Marmarathon: City for the Wild” session on October 3rd.
