Designing Participatory Solutions to Cities’ Complex Problems
Date & Time: Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, 2:30-6:00 PM (UTC+3)
Language: Turkish
The “Designing Participatory Solutions to Cities’ Complex Problems” workshop will look at MARUF’21’s main theme of “Cities Developing Solutions” through a community-powered design lens. At the workshop, we will take up cities’ complex and long-running issues with a participatory approach. At the beginning, we will share case studies and good practices regarding community-powered design and participatory urban design. Later, the participants will be asked to identify some of the complex problems in their cities. Instead of working on putting forward solutions themselves, they will need to design participatory processes of inclusive decision making and problem solving. These processes include community-powered research, ideation, application, and impact assessment. Designed and to be facilitated by ATÖLYE, the workshop welcomes participants from municipalities, NGOs, academia, and creative industries.
